The development of the first Solarpod prototype was a true collaboration between AA Solar and the founder of Solarpod Matt Newman. Where everyone bought their strengths and expertise.

AA Solar designed the solar, battery and control system, including all engineering support, we also sourced and supplied the components. Matt then built the Solarpod in our workshop with AA Solar wiring the DC components. Together we tested it with a diesel generator and load bank to confirm its hybrid capabilities. Which has been followed up with numerous field tests.

Solarpods are perfect for remote or off-grid power application, including:

• Construction and civil sites where diesel generators are currently used
• Temporary power for film, events, concerts & festivals
• Emergency response where rapid deployment is required

The Solarpods have been designed to operate in two ways.

• Independently as a sustainable power generator providing energy night and day.
• With your existing diesel generators as hybrid power solutions.

In a hybrid situation, Solarpod prioritises using its own energy and controls the diesel generator, starting and stopping it only when necessary. This ultimately reduces diesel consumption and carbon emissions. This automatic operation can be monitored remotely from our app connected to Solarpod’s onboard Starlink connectivity.
