AA Solar is proud to partner with MBIE and Weka Weka Community Trust on the $1.6m Waimamaku resilience program.
The program includes solar and battery storage for key community civil emergency locations and a tailored portable solar and battery generator (Solarpod) that enables power and communications for the wider community.
Weka Weka Valley Community Trust in Waimamaku, in South Hokianga, has been approved for a $1.3 million grant to enable Māori's economic development in Waimamaku by installing solar power and batteries in multiple businesses and community facilities, providing consistent and reliable power.
The project will assist and prepare the Waimamaku community for resilience in emergencies, severe weather events, and disruptions to electricity supply and communications by supplying key community civil emergency locations with power and secure communications systems.
Weka Weka Valley Community Trust will contribute $320,000 in co-funding.
