Residential Solar Grid-Tied

Are you interested in harnessing the sun’s power to reduce your carbon footprint and energy bills? A Residential Grid-Tied Solar System may be the solution you’re looking for. In this section, we’ll explore the benefits of this solar system and why it’s an excellent option for homeowners.

Grid-Tied Solar System

What is a Grid-Tied Solar System?

A Grid-Tied Solar System is a solar energy system connected to the power grid and doesn’t include a battery. It works by generating electricity from the sun’s energy using solar panels, which is then converted into AC electricity that can be used to power your home. Any excess electricity generated that isn’t used is fed back into the grid, providing energy to your neighbours.

How Grid-Tied Solar Works

A grid-tied solar system converts sunlight into DC (direct current) electricity using solar panels. An inverter converts this DC power into AC (alternating current) electricity. During the day, the solar power flows through a switchboard and powers your appliances. Any excess solar power that is not used is sent back to the grid and measured by the meter box. Your electricity retailer will apply for for credits in exchange for the excess energy produced.

Installing a solar panel system can significantly reduce your power costs, offer a good return on investment, and require little to no maintenance, especially if you choose a grid-tied system that doesn’t require batteries.

If your solar energy system generates more power than your home consumes, the excess power will be sold to the energy retailer, and you will receive a credit for the power on your monthly power bill. This will save you even more money, and you’ll be contributing to a cleaner environment.

Benefits of a Grid-Tied Solar System

    Cost-Effective

    1. One of the main benefits of a Grid-Tied Solar System is that it’s a cost-effective way to reduce your electricity bills. With this system, you don’t need an expensive battery to store excess energy generated during the day. Instead, the surplus energy is sent to the grid, and you receive credits on your power bill.

    Environmentally Friendly

    • Grid-Tied Solar Systems are an environmentally friendly solution to power your home. By generating electricity from the sun’s energy, you reduce your carbon footprint, which benefits the environment.

    Easy to Install

    • Grid-Tied Solar Systems are easy to install and require little maintenance. Once the system is installed, it will work quietly in the background, generating clean energy for your home.

    Perfect for Daytime Energy Needs

    • A Grid-Tied Solar System is an excellent option for homeowners with significant energy needs during the day, such as running a pool or underfloor heating. The solar energy produced during the day is used to power these appliances, reducing your reliance on grid energy.

If you’re looking for a cost-effective, environmentally friendly way to power your home, a Grid-Tied Solar System is an excellent option. Not only does it help you save money on your energy bills, but it also reduces your carbon footprint. So, take advantage of the sun’s power and install a Grid-Tied Solar System today. Residential Grid-Tied Frequently Asked Questions.

Here are some of the most commonly asked questions, for more FAQs click here

Will my solar panels generate electricity during cloudy, rainy or snowy days?

Your solar panels don’t need sun days to generate electricity as much as they need direct, unobstructed access to UV rays.  Meaning your solar system will still generate electricity during cloudy, rainy, or snowy days- however, they won’t produce as much energy as they do on clear days.

How much will I save on my electricity bills?

That depends on how much electricity your home uses, where you live, your day time energy use, the rate your utility charges – both fixed and variable and several other factors.

If you are home during the day, you can expect to reduce your monthly electricity bill, by approximately 30%

How will I know if my property is a good candidate for solar panels?

The best place for a solar array will be a north-facing area of your property with minimal obstruction.  That means no trees in the way and no shade from chimneys or neighbouring houses to block the sun’s rays.

East and West-facing properties can also gain benefits from switching to solar. Don’t despair if your property doesn’t appear to fit these criteria.  Our Solar Engineer will be able to assess your home and let you know for sure.

Do my Solar Panels work at night

Solar panels do not generate electricity at night because there is no sunlight.  For night time energy you will draw from the grid.
