AA Solar designed and installed this 30kW grid-tied PV system for the Te Kia Ora Marae in South Kaipara. This new Marae now has state-of-the-art water, gas and solar infrastructure to support a large local Whanau and is set to become the central hub of the community.
The Marae was a recipient of the Cultural Initiative Fund, a fund for marae and Papkainga/Maori housing development in Tamaki Makaurau.
We were told there is poverty in the community, and the community cannot get over how they could have such a beautiful marae. They have hopes and dreams of holding whānau celebrations, tangi, and wānanga at the marae, and it is becoming the central hub for Kakanui.

We installed 64 x 455W panels and 30KW Huawei Inverters to create a 29KW solar system supported by a large on-site generator.
